This is one of the best movies of the 2008
Plot: High school student Nick O'Leary, member of the Queercore band The Jerk Offs, meets college-bound Norah Silverberg and she asks him to be her boyfriend for five minutes.
Lorene Scafaria adapted the screenplay from a novel by Rachel Cohn + David Levithan. The title must be a reference to the musical Nick and Nora I really liked this movie, despite it being a giant shout out to the New York indie music scene. Cera is Mr Magic so he was "thumbs up" from the get go. Kat Dennings was quite lovely too. Bonus points for what looks like actual shooting in NYC. Of course the entire thing is not entirely grounded in reality but that's ok Some random notes and minor gripes: didn't like the chick who played Nick's ex at all.. she looked so Bratz doll or something. Not too happy with Norah's super friend either though she can play a drunkard. The gays came out pretty well in the flick. Why didn't they make Cera sing!? What a missed opportunity. Also that scene after they "do it", they are all dressed up on the couch. Confuso. A lot of good music and a great movie for fans of the genre, as well as couples or people who believe in love.
