Plot: The film follows the mysterious and ruthless Nikolai (Viggo Mortensen), who is tied to one of London's most notorious organized crime families. His carefully maintained existence is jarred when he crosses paths with Anna (Naomi Watts), an innocent midwife trying to right a wrong, who accidentally uncovers potential evidence against the family. Now Nikolai must put into motion a harrowing chain of murder, deceit, and retribution.
Good work pr machine (reviews, interviews), despite an initial bleh feeling over the trailer, I went to watch this.. actually Kevin Stobo warned me.. the thing is pretty disappointing, and I liked History Of Violence (this movie reunites director Cronenberg and Mortensen) Save for that infamous bathhouse nakedness fight, the movie is a bore. Naomi Watts has not looked this unattractive in a while, or maybe she's just not that hot I suppose Armin Mueller-Stahl as Semyon is good, I've seen him before on the West Wing.
