This is one of the best movies of the 2006

Plot: A farmer, a smuggler, and a syndicate of businessmen match wits over the possession of a priceless diamond.

One of the strongest movies I've seen all year (and ever), from story, pacing (which is so important to me) and acting. DiCaprio dazzles again, here in a turn as an ex-soldier turned diamond smuggler, that South African accent is so on point, even if I probably never heard what that is supposed to sound like. Connelly coasts by a bit though she has a memorable scene where her charm really shines. Hounsou deserves all his praises, he's quite amazing, the first time I've seen his acting chops (the kid had a sorry role in freakin Biker Boyz), his intensity sets the mood for the movie

It can get a bit preachy and a tad long (do we need to get the whole resolution thing in London?), those are only minor details to one of the year's best movie

Notes
- Archer (DiCaprio) says the diamond is about 100 carat
- Africa is beautiful
