mystery

Plot: Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot has a set of murder suspects on a boat in the Nile after a rich heiress is killed. Can he find the culprit before they reach port?
From a famous Agatha Christie novel, I thought it was largely staged to be like the celebrated 'Orient-Express movie, how the whole group becomes sequestered in a location (here on a cruise boat), and everyone on the ship has a motive to kill the murdered. They never explain how Poirot and his sidekick (the colonel) are exonerated. Ustinov's French is quite good, I love how the old movies incorporate so much of it (I suppose that is Christie's doing), the movie falls a bit flatter than 'Orient-Express, it's ultimately average as a whodunit I thought Finney was better also in 'Orient Express. They actually went on location in Egypt! Well at least it looks it Links - /reviews/movie/1301/murder-on-the-orient-express Last Updated 11/21/2006 11:45:17 PM 2hr 20min / Directed by John Guillermin / Starring Peter Ustinov, Jane Birkin, Lois Chiles, Bette Davis, Mia Farrow, Angela Lansbury / Language: English / Watched: DVD Also in mystery (5 movies) | ||||
