   (imdb rating: 8.3/10)

Plot: The story of how Bruce Wayne became what he was destined to be: Batman.

Warner and DC Comics (new logo copied after the Marvel style, thank you very much) try to revive their comic book properties with a crack at Batman here (and Superman next year)

The movie is basically an origins movie, recounting what led young Bruce Wayne to protect the streets of Gotham.. it all starts with the murder of his parents but Nolan with a script by David S. Goyer (Blade, a lot of other comics movies) picked an unusual story involving Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow, appropriate though because the movie here deals largely with fear

Bale has said in an interview that the costume/makeup was a horrible experience and he was trying to use that in his acting.. he seemed so constipated when he was wearing batman costume. He does a very good Bruce Wayne no doubt and I agree with Jim Lee that he was quite gifted at portraying Bruce at different ages

Caine has a stand out supporting role as Alfred, more of a mentor than just a butler; Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow (nice casting). Watanabe, Neeson and Oldman were kinda ehh

Holmes has lost her status of hot babe to me as of late but she was not bad to watch on screen, also she's kinda hot in the current issue of Mean Magazine. Bonus: the last scene she has with Bale got some hot nip action, for guys only. Silk blouse ftw

The movie could have done without all the forced comedy/one-liners, it was actually long / boring

Action scenes, especially fights and those involving bats were real confusing, bad bad

How did the movie do? Just about as well as 'Sith I guess, passable. Rewatchability is very low. It did surprisingly well with most everyone I talked to so that is good for DC and Warner

Comics superstar Jim Lee contributed sketches/drawings to the DC logo credit opening. He raves about it but I dont share his enthusiasm

ToGawp sums it up best "I just wish there was less ninja training and more Batman action"
