This is one of the best movies of the 2004
Smith plays an old school cop in 2034 Chicago, he is hugely mistrusting of the robots and their growing role in modern society, and his suspiscions make him an outcast/weirdo. He's not all that wrong though, as the first murder case involving a robot springs up on him. Some great action but the best thing about the movie is the story. We gotta give props to Isaac Asimov whose novels inspired other movies as well. Quite the visionary. This solidifies Smith's rep for carrying out big summer action flicks, not that it needed any help with his recent Bad Boy II outing last summer. I think props are also in order for Alex Proyas (Dark City) who's direction and style can be felt throughout the picture
As much as I loved it, a few people have had negative views of it, some saying it was very predictable, or others questioning the logic of the movie, those people are good. The flick worked for me Last Updated 1/10/2005 11:52:04 PM 1hr 55min / Directed by Alex Proyas / Starring Will Smith, Bridget Moynahan / Language: English / Watched: DVD-Rental Also by Alex Proyas - filmography (2 movies)
