Plot: An eccentric, if not charming Southern professor and his crew pose as a band in order to rob a casino, all under the nose of his unsuspecting landlord: a sharp old woman.

A modern update in America's South of a British comedy

Hanks plays a sophisticated and pedantic professor who heads a band of colorful thugs to rob casino money by digging a tunnel from an old church lady's basement.. the plan is almost flawless but the the old lady proves quite uncooperative

Hanks' characters' ticks not withstanding, and even while some of the language is vintage Coen, the movie cannot be saved from being a bore
