Can this Affleck kid rebound from overbenifer exposure? Results mixed.
Smith tries his hand at family/romance with the tale of Ollie Trinke, high flying publicist who loses his wife while she gives birth to his daughter.. trying to get over the tragedy, he overworks himself and he gets fired after lashing out at some reporters and his client (a really boring thing about Will Smith that keeps coming back). This makes him move back to his dad's house in New Jersey, but with a new focus to become the best father to his daughter He does do a good job raising his daughter, the adorable Castro, who also bears a small resemblance to Jennifer Lopez, but Ollie still chases the dream of the life in the city Some tender banter with Affleck and Carlin but everything is a bit forced, it sorta falls flat in the end. I miss the mastery of dialogue, that spiffiness that only Smith used to have. He sure hasn't lost his way with profanity.. that really doesn't click too well for a family flick.. how they get away with pg13 is beyond me Last Updated 9/9/2004 11:11:45 AM 1hr 42min / Directed by Kevin Smith / Starring Ben Affleck, Raquel Castro, Liv Tyler, George Carlin / Language: English / Watched: DVD Also by Kevin Smith - filmography (6 movies)
