Based on a novel by Dennis Lehane, the movie earned Eastwood an Oscar Nominamtion for Best Director, Sean Penn and Tim Robbins took home Oscars for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor

3 childhood friends are reunited as adults when one of their daughters is found murdered. This movie centers quite a bit on child abuse and its repercussion on one of the protagonists, the acting is quite superb: Sean Penn is freakin intense, Bacon actually good (JFK/Few Good Men good), and Robbins has his best role since Shawshank'

However the ending quite loses me, there's an interesting twist that an astute viewer can see coming. I guess I don't like much how they wrap things up. Solid
