This is one of the best movies of the 2000
Plot: A man, suffering from short-term memory loss, uses notes and tattoos to hunt down his wife's killer.
Memento was simply brilliant, maybe only shadowed by an obscure release in the independent market. This dramatic movie follows the life of Leonard, violent and tormented as it is, while he attempts to solve the mystery of his wife's rape and murder.. but reality and what he actually remembers is so blurred.. what is true? The premise is that he does not remember anything since he was hit in the head by his wife's assailant. So he comes up with this system for how to remember new events in his life. A fantastic idea exceptionally executed. It takes a bit to get into it but I was so glued to the movie until the end. The movie follows Pierce in his quest, and the events are replayed backwards as each piece of the puzzle comes together.. excellent indeed. Unfortunately the unusual editing/violence prevents this from being viewed too many times.. but I am glad to say this is still a very solid movie on a subsequent viewing Much like Pulp Fiction, you are able to see little details on a repeat viewing, looking at little things that may have been missed. I had a hard time recognizing Guy Pearce (LA Confidential) in his look, he is awesome. Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano (both Matrix alumnis) play their intriguing parts as the viewers struggle to understand if they are friend or foes.. Watch Memento, and watch it closely!
