Ellis has a kick ass story about God coming back to claim his Earth, nice theories and some nice display of Authority kickin ass.. this story is a bit hard to get into (this vol. compiles issues 9-16) but it's not that bad.. ends with leader Jennie Sparks dying and of course, saving the Earth (not to mention, destroying God!)
2nd main story has the Authority taking a new role to regulate the Earth as well as protecting from extra-terrestrial threats.. and saving a reincarnated Sparks..
