Pretty good, makes economics interesting but I don't think it's a fit, maybe my personal interests are changing (I am getting old). Naked Economics cite many economists, studies to support basic concepts of markets, governance and gives a good framework to look at the world and larger issues involving money Mentions - same orchestra blind audition as Gladwell - Chad, I just realized that is the African country known as Tchad in French, recently in a slide from Inconvenient Truth How prescient, the author at one point talks about how buying a car is a decision that affects many but only undertaken by an individual, the buyer: "[..] I have never mailed off a check to the people in New Orleans who may someday find their houses underwater because my CO2 emission are melting the polar ice caps" (pg 43). This idea called "externality" is a pretty good topic Notes Rule of 72 by which you can divide 72 by an interest rate and get the number of years to double your money. Example: it takes 7.2 years to double your money at 10% Links - http://www.flickr.com/photos/kewlio/263642859/ Buy from Amazon Wikipedia Google Books Related in commentary - 2004 Wisdom of Crowds - 2005 Freakonomics - 2005 Everything Bad Is Good for You - 2002 Tipping Point |
