Ultimates 2: Vol 1 - Gods & Monsters (2005)
Mark Millar, Bryan Hitch
comics - ISBN 0785110933

The strength of this volume is the story, it's quite good though it muddles in the beginning (for close to the first half), we'll call that setting things up. Mark Millar pulls one of those great mindfucks with the uncertain origins of Thor, a cool twist actually

Disappointed in the art, I know Hitch (and Millar actually) always had issues with being on time. The work here feels rushed. I also had a problem with Cap's new headgear with a chin strap, they kinda messed that design up

One good thing, I skipped Ultimates Vol. 2 Homeland Security and did not miss too much (and hopefully got too much given away by reading ahead), I do hope they explain Cap's costume modification

Ultimates 2 is still running weeklies at the moment, on March 1 2006, the last issue that shipped was #10 so it'll be a while before it is collected in trade. Ultiamtes 2: Vol. 1 collects issues 1-6
