BRAVERY - discography
This is one of the best albums of the 2005
The Bravery hails from NY. Musically awesome, it has like Bloc Party a kick ass rhythm section but also some really involved guitars and keyboards. It's got a bit of the garage/industrial sound. If anything, the singing by Sam Endicott is a bit zombie like (very in for 2005) when he is not channelling Robert Smith (The Cure frontman)
There are obvious great songs on this album but I've come to appreciate even the more obscure songs, I feel the same way about Interpol's first two albums Band members Sam Endicott (vocals/guitar) John Conway (keyboards) Anthony Burulcich (drums) Michael Zakarin (guitar) Mike H. (bass) The Bravery have a rivalry of sort with The Killers who have called them out for sounding similar What did the artist smoke for the cover? Bllehh 1. Honest Mistake discovered thru Lucy and Mike, the electro-rock intro gives a surprising punk-rock catchy tune.. there's a kinda cheapie video with dominos cascading off in some nerdy contraption.. the band rocks out good, the singer be kinda weird... too goth for u! 2. No Brakes a jbc favorite, the song gets really good for me towards the end 3. Fearless the song starts a bit weird, keyboards and all (you'd think it's that one Frou Frou song), but then the bass and the drums kicks in and it's dope as heck. The chorus a bit flat though 4. Tyrant The Bravery slow it down for a minute, a bit average 5. Give In not bad musically but the song could use some vocal help 6. Swollen Summer pretty spiffy beats but a bit weird, I can get into it though, John has told me this may be the band's new single on MTV, good choice 7. Public Service Announcement very groovy intro 8. Out of Line very good, slower and hypnotic, I dig it 9. Unconditional "I jus, I jus want love", instantly loved it, became my 2nd favorite song after "Honest Mistake", I love the music, the intro rocks so hard, especially when the drums start up 10. Ring Song the singer sounds like Interpol here, weird song about relationships (ring on the finger).. I'll always remember that road trip to Boston we took during the summer of 05 where we rocked to this song hard 11. Rites of Spring originally didn't like so much but my brother totally put me on the psychotic guitar riff, very vintage Bravery 12. Hot Pursuit (bonus) sounds very Duran Duran but it's good, I'm not sure it's a good thing. Song is mostly good but the bridge a bit ehh Links - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bravery
