BLOC PARTY - discography
This is one of the best albums of the 2005
Bloc Party is a rock outfit from the UK, sporting eclectic members, big drums and bangin guitars
For no apparent reason or maybe because of the serene cover art, I first thought of them as a much better version of Postal Service, but I must say, Postal Service is quite the rock (yea ya I slept on em a bit) Actually Bloc Party reminds me a lot more of a band like the Killers minus the lipstick/keyboard Hollywood ish (though they hail from Vegas) If the band lacks a bit in the melody dept, musically it is so damn tight. I like it the more I listen to it The cover looks like some work I've seen by Takehiro Hiramatsu 1. Like Eating Glass what the heck is eating glass like? 2. Helicopter this is another song I didn't like too much at first but it's safe (after becoming a fan of the band) 3. Positive Tension "play it cool boy" - those are some slick drums and I do love that openin bass line, song is a bit weird but I am liking it more and more 4. Banquet very "the Cure", the band's breakout hit (MTV, played on the OC), I loved this immediately, one of my favorite song on the set - video, video (b&w) 5. Blue Light yeah this song is good 6. She's Hearing Voices those are some fat drums, song is a bit on crack, kinda angry music right here 7. This Modern Love one of my favorite tracks 8. The Pioneers "we will not be the last" - one of the songs that I didn't immediately like but after listenin to Bloc Party for a while, I am really digging the whole album, some great drums 9. Price Of Gasoline guitar is kinda nuts, ish just don't stop 10. So Here We Are could be my favorite song on the set, the drums again are real nice, the guitar has a bit of an 80s pop feel to it, it jus oozes hope, I dunno - video 11. Luno 12. Plans safe 13. Compliments kinda too slow but there's a good build up, grand chorus Links - blog post 8/20/2005 - Bloc Party, At Last - blog post 5/26/2005 - Keane and Bloc Party on Late Nite TV
