Alfonso Cuaron creates an apocalyptic world (read 12 Monkeys) where humans have lost the ability to reproduce. Owen's character is picked by an estranged wife (Julianne Moore) to lead the only pregnant woman left on the planet to some safe heaven. It's all dirt, washed out colors (what is that Eastern Europe?), fires and explosions but there's fresh air, bright light and tall trees at the end of the tunnel (movie)  Children Of Men (Universal) opens Sep 25 Update It took reading it somewhere else to remind me how this was the premise for one of my beloved comics, Y: The Last Man (for Yorick, the last man on earth)..
