Huge sigh of relief as I'm able to say "good stuff". That Spiderman 3 trailer is hot too. More Superman Returns pics at Y! Movies

Superman Returns (2006) - 4/5
IMDB (7.9/10): After a long visit to the lost remains of the planet Krypton, the Man of Steel returns to earth to become the peoples savior once again and reclaim the love of Lois Lane.

Finally the Superman movie got made. It took forever for Jon Peters (more on that from Kevin Smith) to get this done and boy wonder Bryan Singer is to praise for the adaptation (poaching him away from X3 was probably WB's biggest coup). It's a good flick but gosh.. so long. Pacing has its weakness but the character and the story is delicate to develop. Everyone knows about Superman but you still have to introduce him, work with him, make him interesting

Great casting for young Routh, circa 1979, which is sure to become a household name after this (sequels are no brainer). He looks great in the suit, not so much as Clark Kent (too much bulk). I am myself partial to Bosworth though blonde had greater hotness factor. Marsden continues his typecasting of all American handsome second string men (Notebook), Spacey got just the right degree of lunacy. I'm not sure Posey was a great choice or a great character for that matter

I really dug the majestic flying scenes, Superman "can" be cool. The movie has a couple of nice surprises and some touches for comic fanboys. One of the year's (decade I should say) most anticipated, it delivers but left me wanting much more (action!)

The original one sheet wasn't great but better than the whack dvd treatment
