Good flick, I'm pretty sure I asked for "thank you for not smoking" at the box office, whatever. Almost saw Hard Candy actually but this worked out well, solid

Cool trailer of the show: Sketches of Frank Gehry, guy is nuts

Thank You for Smoking (2006) - 3/5
IMDB (8.0/10): Satirical comedy follows the machinations of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.

I've heard a lot of praise about this movie so it was with expected delight that I got to enjoy it. Reminded me a bit about Lord Of War but in the world of a tobacco companies lobbyist.

The strengths are in the characters, everyone is such a caricature, the main protagonist played by Eckart along with the MOD Squad (Merchants of Death), his boss BR played by Simmons in full J. Jonah Jameson form, the Hollywood executive with the Asian fetish (Rob Lowe gets a non-tv gig) and finally the reporter ready to do anything for the story (Holmes)

The most outrageous thing may be how Eckart remains a a role model for his young son, dark humor at its finest

Jason Reitman is also the writer on the movie, he adapted a novel by Christopher Buckley

Typographi seeked out all the fonts used in the opening sequence (titles based on cigarette brand typeset), geeky

Not a huge fan of the poster, it's actually quite hideous though the idea isn't bad
