I was a bit iffy on this but it was a good surprise.

On the trailer side, I saw a new one for Da Vinci Code and I think anticipation is becoming overwhelming. Poseidon has a better trailer. They're puttin an urban twist on the spelling bee with Akeelah and the Bee but they gotta stop exploring that topic


Inside Man (2006) - 4/5
IMDB (7.3/10): A cop has to talk down a bank robber after the criminal's perfect heist spirals into a hostage situation.

Solid acting (and great cast), and good story. It's cool how you find out who's the "inside man", I also liked that it was so NYC

It's a pretty striaght up role for Denzel, very reminiscent of Out Of Time though that is very is b-movie-ish. Clive Owen is just good cuz of the way he talks. Jodie Foster redeems herself, I mean she's always pretty good but her character was so annoying in Flightplan. Here, she plays a most magnetic and powerful woman, she even slips in a sentence in French about the Rothschild (that scene with a giant computer display was cool, was that a 30in flat panel?)

A few small things things bothered me, opening and closing title music (same song),that one scene where Denzel rushes to the bank, what was Spike Lee thinking with that special effect (actor on rails or something, whackness) and why the heck is Denzel wearing a white suit (I thought he was getting married)



Ebert actually didn't like it, and that bums me out
