I was quite surprised went the mini went goodbye. The nano is great and all but I've actually held out and it's working fine, thanks to the iPod shuffle. I think it may still have some legs as Apple's entry level player. I listen to mine working out, commuting and going to sleep (everyday)I'd like to see the following if there's a new version 1) even smaller forgoing a screen (yeah really), the next shuffle could be even smaller and lighter (plastic is good and sturdy, makes it exercise's best buddy) 2) fix that switch the current "off/normal/shuffle" is a pain to operate, can I get a ridge or something 3) 3 to 5 playlist buttons like radio presets, I'd have most played, highest rated and recently added 4) increase of capacity though I sometimes find it hard to fill 1GB of good music (maybe not be a problem for casual listener) 5) make it cheap all this basic electronics should bring the price lower, $100 or $75 would be hotness Links - http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ - blog post 9/7/2005 - the iPod nano replaces the mini
