Via Magazine is a pretty much useless free publication sent out to AAA members. This month has a cool feature on the deteriorating California missions which stretch from San Diego to Sonoma, some nice pictures and 3 cool drawn maps spread across the article. There's a profile of Hayes Valley in San Francisco, a fancy name for the small stretch of Hayes St that starts west of Van Ness (google maps). Here are some the highlights Blue Bottle Coffee 315 Linden St (415) 252-7535 Venerable outpost of the Oakland coffee bean purveyors, strictly coffee! Citizen Cake 399 Grove St (415) 861-2228 Equally hyped for their cupcakes and other desserts Jardiniere 300 Grove St Lauded fancy French restaurant, cool for symphony or opera goers Propeller 555 Hayes St (415) 701-7767 Buy an ugly dolls for a friend's birthday or somethin Links - http://www.viamagazine.com
