Judicious question post on Chowhound "I am just curious to learn where everyone gets their chocolate (or plain butter) croissants from. So far, the best place I've been is Acme bread in the Ferry Buidling." [edited] Here are some answers, usual suspects but also a remarkably good distribution around the bay Tartine 600 Guerrero St, San Francisco, CA (415) 487-2600 Delanghe 1890 Fillmore St, San Francisco, CA (415) 923-0711 La Farine 6323 College Ave, Oakland, CA (510) 654-0338 Hotel Sofitel 223 Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City, CA (800) 763-4835 Woodside Bakery & Cafe 3052 Woodside Rd, Woodside, CA (650) 851-0812 Fleur De Cocoa - short review 39 N Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos, CA (408) 354-3574 The French probably cringe at the idea of a "chocolate croissant" but I can deal with how that would be a name for our treasured "pain au chocolat". I'll have to get over to Tartine one of these days with the universal praise or what not (though my man Ced actually finds fault with the chocolate, "Tartine's chocolate croissant with scharfenberger chocolate in it: it is the only chocolate croissant that I cannot finish. It's just too much".. how he can trace the kind they use is beyond me), I can vouch for Fleur de Coca, very safe Links - http://chowhound.com/california/boards/sanfrancisco/sanfrancisco.html
