Been listenin to a bit of new music (meaning "not" The Killers) in preparation for the Download Festival this Saturday 10/8 @ Shoreline. The Chronicle has a good preview of the bands. All but the 3 biggest acts (The Killers, Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse) have new albums for 2005 The iTunes dialog to create the smart playlist was quite handy ![]() The Killers Top billing act with an awesome debut album, hopefully they deliver live ![]() Arcade Fire I was on them for a bit, but kinda outgrew the Montreal band.. ish be weirdz ![]() Modest Mouse This band "is" weirdness incarnate, not expecting much besides "Foat On" although I did like their last album ![]() H.I.M. Goth rock a bit of a mismatch with the other bands, curious about crowd response ![]() Doves Prolly best new band I checked out for the festival ![]() Mindless Self Indulgence Safe to skip ![]() The Lovemakers Lookin forward to them based on hype from short snippets heard in my friend Michelle's car ![]() British Sea Power How cool is this name for a band? Mellow stuff, not sure how the studio album will transcribe live Ambulance LTD Extra Action Marching Band Every Move A Picture Nine Black Alps Never heard and haven't listened to, Extra Action Marching Band has the better name Links - http://upcoming.org/event/25708/ - http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/10/02/PKG6CEUF7A1.DT... - blog post 7/31/2005 - Killer(s) strategy
