I was talkin to big B and one (geek) thing led to another and he asked me if he could sub to my site via NewsGator, the answer being no cuz my rss feed is all jacked up

I had read how FeedBurner was the way to go to publish rss feeds since it takes care of all kinds of variants in rss versions as well as atom if that's your thing. I tried to add my feed but it was of course still invalid

I googled quickly problems associted with my web server (bleh) and actually found a simple line I had ommitted. After I added the feed validator was still complaining. I found a couple of interesting things actually debugging, xml does not like the special character & which I had to substitute with %26.. done. Now pictures were not showin up and I found out my thumbnail generator does not handle this %26 business so well, so I removed it (thankfully I have it set so it resizes if there is no height or width passed to it)

Done! Sorta, it passes the basic FireFox validator and that'll do for me. FeedBurner actually has a ton of features where you can change formats, splice ads and what not, get stats. Most of all, I am diggging FeedBurner's super-friendly style to display the xml, sweet. I updated my rss/xml link with FeedBurner's. Checked it on NewsGator and it's a go. Hopefully it's workin across major readers. I also added the rel link for FireFox to detect it as a live bookmark (what a whacky name) It's funny cuz no one really reads ish this but I'm stoked anyway
