Not an obvious year for albums as I slept on a lot of stuff that would end up topping my playlists all the way into 2005. In that spirit, I had to wait till August for the first decent album, thanks to Jay (actually Banks prolly came out earlier, G-Unit is really puttin out some good ish). Usher's offering only qualified after its reissue. The U2 album played very strongly just in time for Christmas but I'd have to say replayability was a bit of an issue.. more albums at the bottom 2004 had some great singles, especially Yeah! from Usher that still moves bodies up in the club. There were 2 really solid alt rock songs: Dashboard Confessional's Vindicated and Hoobastank's The Reason but what's more remarkable is how these 2 songs crossed over. I thought it was a good year for the G-Unit crew, with albums and good heat from Lloyd Banks and Young Buck. Ah yeah special mention to Kanye West who was all over the place for the first half of the year. There was a big wave of indie rock led by Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol and the Killers. Oh yeah Maroon 5's album is way old but they really broke through this year, I've heard a club remix of This Love which was so odd, She Will Be Loved was used on a bunch of tv shows. Finally I'm majorly gay but I rocked to Come Clean by Hilary Duff for like a couple of months, ha Late adds - Banks, Stefani, Killers, Keane (actually 5 stars, talk about sleepin on somethin) Later adds - Jimmy Eat World Even later - Interpol Links - album review - Antics by Interpol - album review - Orange Jasmine (七里香) by Jay Chou (周杰倫) - album review - Futures by Jimmy Eat World - album review - Love, Angel, Music, Baby by Gwen Stefani - album review - Hopes And Fears by Keane - album review - Hot Fuss by Killers - album review - Hunger For More by Lloyd Banks - album review - How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb by U2
