Had a fun trip, spent it with the Chens in Southern California. Not a lotta pictures but it was pretty good, ate entirely too much, the weather was a bit uneven (rained hard Saturday) and some sun, kinda cold though slightly better than in the bay. Traffic sucked, took us about 6h30 driving down and almost 8hrs coming back.. sucked! It was cool to see John's family, Jason, Jackie and Yee (how weird!)

eats
- Din Tai Fung (Arcadia) and BCD (LA)
Went twice to both of these, they regularly tops our LA visits for the food, afterparty at BCD (get spicy!) and the exquisite dumplings at DTF, wish the lines were a bit shorter there
- Fu-shing (Pasadena)
Chinese Thanksgiving dinner that wasn't too hot, we didn't finish any of our dishes
- Jilberto's (Riverside)
Surprisingly good Mexican food, I was kinda full but I kept on eating
- Yard House (Pasadena)
Drink beer till you drop, food might have been jus okay
- Jinju Gomtang (LA)
Uhhhh I am not going there again. They had their own version of sul lung tang but it was kinda whack, their oxtail soup might have been the dish but anyway, a bit too ghetto for me

clubs
- Pearl (GlamLA in WeHo)
Fresh in town, jus about went straight to the club and took Mark out for his 21st b-day, was okay, cool venue (right next to Ultra Suede); there was a lotta gay people out that nite, I had a pretty good laugh seeing the movie poster for Drill Bill, naaast
- Garden of Eden (On in Hollywood)
A Friday night favorite, even though it wasn't very packed, the place held its promise, got introduced to the gg on the rocks with lime, 2 of those and you're done
- Factory (Go in WeHo)
Korean chicks in LA are lame, some of the schoolgirl outfits were ok, the club was a bit weird (industrial) with steel rods and some platforms, the pole dancers were kinda chunk nasty, left it early

misc
- Desert Hill at Cabazon (shopping)
Crazy shop black Friday shopping in the desert, was it worth getting up at 5am? Probably not but it was cool to check it out, got some good stuff at Saks, Lacoste, J Crew and Hugo Boss
- National Treasure (movie)
Fairly unconvincing and predictable action flick channeling Indiana Jones and borrowing (to put it nicely) heavily from the Da Vinci Code, it was very safe. Diane Kruger was a lot hotter than in Troy though John was kinda annoyed at her English (she's German)
- Au79 (bubble tea)
Only large bubble, kinda soft, maybe I was too cold to appreciate it, there was one giant freaky guy with blond hair there, tell him to stop that
- World of Warcraft (pc game)
Mark kinda went off, I think he logged over 20 hours over the week-end on that ish, why did he have to pick a night-elf huntress/herbalist is beyond us
- Cosmetique de L'ennemi (book)
Found time to finish this, it's really short but the author Amélie Nothomb has been consistently good, she's no different on this one
