loungin
it was all about the clubs for us cali peeps. some of em rival them la clubs for real. aight, the lounges in new york are cool, u dont pay to get in but once the party get started, it's so small u can't move around. we checked out a few of em to get into the spirit, especially eleven for the ho-she-bang party (cornell reunion birthday). it was ok.. music needed some help. john kinda got nailed there hahhaha. the hudson hotel was kinda chill, i was diggin all the weird bright lights that start from the escalator leadin up.. sum good drinks there, but why does it have to cost so much (this was forebearing of our whole nyc experience). lounges is prolly more fun for locals

meat-packing district
this area is the current hot spot in the city (around 13th st and 9th ave), we went to check it out a couple of nights. it's pretty happenin after dark, especially with the hoopla surrounding restaurant spice market (which is good and all, if you're not asian). anyway, we went to apt, nice ass lounge with a small dancefloor downstairs, we talked to some japanese dancers there but it ended prematurely with john gettin his ass slapped by a guy, it may have been gay night, who knows. as cool as this area is, wednesday and thursday kinda suck. we tried to go to the loft but it was a private party. the view from the rooftop of hotel gansevoort was quite something but we weren't really feelin the crowd. on the website ive seen a pool but that must be somewhere else. i hear gansevoort also has a gay club called hell, which is pretty damn funny.. all them gay guys goin to hell. we were told to go to trust but it was not open thursday

hardcore clubbing
our very first club was really just a bar with a dancefloor, called bob in the l.e.s., it was so packed that it was no fun. I gotta say they played some good music. john and I went to this placed called spirit but that night they had a fashion show, a tv channel launch and they played trance music all night.. damn gay

the good parties we went to were mk (korean) parties. all the venues were pretty similar (shine, lq and viscaya pictured above), upscale and pretty big with good dance area, hip-hop. we partied up good and didn't even have to use our fake korean names (in la, them koreans only wanna hang out with other koreans.. lil fuckers). we got tables at those parties so we wouldn't have to wait in line. if you get the bottle special (usually johnny walker), it's actually a pretty good deal even though we really dont hang out around our table after the first hour or so

in general, the crowd is much better in nyc than dude factory at home. james has a theory that korean chicks are just hotter so it helped that we went to korean parties. john says ppl are more down to party there, they be down kid!. all the parties didnt end till 4 in the morning, though apparently chicks would leave earlier than that. it was nice to get food after the clubs, but that's true anywhere

had so much fun, cant wait to go back
