Former President (and California Governor.. don't think we don't know what you're up to Arnold) Ronald Reagan passed away on Saturday early afternoon (Pacific Time). I was at the gym when I saw a few of the news monitor flashing video footage of the man. With the caption turned on, it actually masked the title on a particular network but you got the gist pretty fast. It was interesting that mostly middle aged people or rather people pushin 40 were interested. Seeing their reaction to the news was weird, they'd get that double take and look at other people around the treadmill area, sometimes starting some small talk about the death. Reagan had been battling Alzheimer's for years. Dubbed by many as the "Great Communicator" (something I should look up), Reagan was the first President of the United States to be in seep into my consciousness, growin up in France (I was born in 77, Reagan served two terms from 81 to 89). Most will remember Reagan for being the President of the Cold War, the Iran Contra and being shot by a crazy man who did it for Jodie Foster. In France most people thought about the incredible fit of Reagan as an actor turned President, I mean how Hollywood is that? Only in America From cool article on Yahoo! News Movie historian David Thomson calls Reagan's switch to politics, "the greatest career move in the history of entertainment."On the other hand, Chomsky had some not so kind words and he backs it up "mostly a PR creation in the first place, and massively so in recent years"Read for yourself Ronald Reagan, 1911 - 2004, RIP Links - http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2004/reagan/index.html - http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=598&e=2&u=/nm/20040607... - http://blog.zmag.org/ttt/archives/000572.html - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reagan
