So I caught this new flick Alex & Emma (hate the title) at an advanced screening at the Pruneyard (Campbell) and it wasn't so bad Alex And Emma (2003) - 3/5 Story of a writer (Luke Wilson) who needs to finish a book in a month and hires a stenographer (Kate Hudson, quite popular lately) to help him. She proves to do more than taking dictation, as she interjects and gives her opinion during much of the writing process. The movie switches between the novel and the life of these two who are destined from the begining to fall for each other. In the end, we find out much of the story borrows from the writer's real life.. it's a light hearted comedy and although it stretches belief, it still gives a few moments of strong performances. Looks like Hudson had fun playing the various roles the writer imagines for her in the novel. Wilson is solid.
