My first show of the year (Vampire Weekend was not meant to be) and I showed up late enough to stand in the back. It's all good though, happy bday special k Swedish American has first come first serve seats. Size-wise it's like coming to a tiny town hall meeting, with better lighting ![]() Nada Surf was great, their faux-acoustic set ideal for this place. They played a lot off the new album Lucky (just released). I like some of those songs, but for me, it's always about waiting around for "Fruit Fly". That song is yums I'm not super into banter though I liked the math jokes. Nerdy. Oh yeah Daniel (Lorca) rocked the smokes, I will always love it buddy. The boys really rock the falsettos too Set list highlights (random order) - Fruit Fly - Blonde on Blonde - Killian's Red - Blizzard of 77 - Always Love - See These Bones - What Is Your Secret - Weightless - I Like What You Say - Whose Authority (maybe) - The Blankest Year (last song, encore) It seemed like a short show (I did miss the start), which I guess worked out cuz I haven't gone to one of these in a while, legs be achin'. Bravo and a well deserved standing ovation to send them off. SF Loves you ![]() Nada Surf is back in town on March 22, playing the Fillmore Links - blog post 10/22/2005 - Nada Surf w/ Say Hi To Your Mom @ Bimbo's - http://flickr.com/photos/kewlio/sets/72157594308534475/
