Ridley Scott reunites with Maximus on American Gangster, the big deal is probably that it stars Denzel Washington. The premise is that Denzel plays a mob figure who's even above than the Italian mafia, set to eventually collide with Crowe the cop. Check the trailer (much better resolution @ Y! Movies) It's set to "Heart of the City" by Jay-Z (produced by Kanye West, sampling Bobby Blue Bland). Hip-hop heads will appreciate roles by the RZA, T.I. and Common. Josh Brolin, Carla Gugino, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Idris Elba (The Wire) round up the cast The story based on real events takes place in the 70s so expect plenty of whack hairstyle and clothing. If anything that only gives the movie some street cred. I love crime movies, how ya like the Scarface treatment?
