Probably the most complex spy movie ever made. Pretty good if you get into it

Good Shepherd (2006) - 4/5
IMDB (7.2/10): The tumultuous early history of the Central Intelligence Agency is viewed through the prism of one man's life.

The first time I watched this, I wasn't of sound mind and you gotta bring you a game for this. It's not a flashy movie, things are quite understated but it captured my interest all the same. This movie is brilliant, complex and it deserves to be understood. The music is incredible also (Bruce Fowler and Marcelo Zarvos). Could be best spy movie ever (this thread helped, and of course there's always Wikipedia)

This is for the haters
But still, despite the handicap of being too long (and a bit too involved at certain points), it makes for fascinating viewing and is the kind of film you dare not divert your attention from for a moment. If you do, you are liable to miss an essential plot point.

Note
Joe Pesci came out of semi retirement for a small role here (movie before that, Lethal Weapon 4 in 1998)
