I love Limon, my first experience with Peruvian food. I've been there a lot lately and I've visited the old 17th st location. It's a bit on the pricey side though sangria makes everything ok. It's not like a place you'd want to go every week, the flavors are a bit too rich, and you'd also need to be. But I could go there once a month. Here's the run down

anticucho de pulpito, baby octopus on mashed potatoes, a must get

ceviche limon

ceviche de camarones

seco de costilla, braised short ribs, very solid

arroz con mariscos, just a good paella

pargo rojo, another must get

pechuga de pato, duck is the bomb

Also
empanada don walter, a Peruvian fried dumpling
picante de mariscos, a spicy paella

You can skip
tatara de atun, tuna tartare has been done to death, they don't really add anything here
chicarron de pollo, fried pieces of chicken, done well but doesn't seem to really hit the Peruvian spot
lomo saltodo, wasn't overly impressed with this supposed staple dish

Here are some dishes I should try
- Vieres con Foie Gras, Pan seared scallops and foie gras served over a creamy yucca puree with fig sauce and purple corn reduction
- Hongos, Sautéed mushrooms with light butter, garlic and parsley
- Calamares Limon, Braised whole calamari stuffed with aji Amarillo, shrimp and breadcrumbs, served with saffron cream sauce and tomato-crispy leek salad
- Parihuela (Peruvian Bouillabaise), Fish, scallops, clams, mussels, prawns, calamari, and crab in a red pepper, wine tomato broth
- Churrasco a la Parilla, Grilled 12oz. Ribeye steak served with roasted red potatoes, grilled asparagus, chimichurri mustard sauce

Oh yeah, it's in the Mission which sounds ghetto: Valencia is the new cool
