Update Oh F it, talk about impulse, I just ordered this. Now for some fun race against time, my month to month contract cuts off on the 20th. So it turns out I can cancel on the 19th or I will be billed another month. If I transfer my number (free, vz to cingular), it's just pro-rated and cancels by itself. How weird ![]() I played with the Blackberry Pearl last night, this thing is hot + my current cellie is so sad (circa 2004!!!). The size really is the kicker here (you can about do the same things on both, yes I know, iPhone interface is way cool). ![]() iPhone = huge (more) ![]() Pearl = tiny Pros - smartphone! Join the 21st century - available now (6 months for the iPhone) - small, great form factor (iPhone is a bit hugeness) - Gmail + Gmaps custom apps are killer - micro sd support for music, etc (on board 64MB) - gsm, probably can use abroad - costs about $25 and change on Amazon Cons - 1.3 MP camera + like all cameraphones, low light isn't pics are kinda pointless (even with sorry excuse for flash), pictures can be ok though - 2 year contract!! Probably about the same anywhere - standard voice plan (450 anytime, 5000 nights/weekend) and unlimited data would set me back probably almost $100 per month ($39.99 + $39.99 + a bunch of taxes) Pics ![]() Credits: dotsara, StarrGazr, anxiousdog Resources blackberrypearl.com Research In Motion BlackBerry 8100 Pearl Specs & Features (Phone Scoop) Considering the Blackberry Pearl So you just got a Blackberry Pearl and you have a mac… | A Whole Lotta Nothing In a Sea of Cellphones, a Pearl - New York Times Links - blog post 1/9/2007 - iPhone envy - http://del.icio.us/kewlio/blackberry
