I was feeling kinda sick but there was something about how Lady Sovereign fd up her first show in the bay last year that made me want to check her out. I haven't really listened to her music so I was there for all the hype and the hate So the openers Honeycut and Young Love were nowhere to be seen. Instead, this one guy with his laptop showed up and did some really weird shit. Some of the beats were really cool actually but he was laying some David Gahan (Depeche Mode) type vocals. It was pretty awful (update: he was local Gold Chains) S-O-V came up with this dj and rhythm section, the bassist was kinda good. Girl be angry, real angry, I think she was kinda good, playing tomboy to the fullest. It wasn't the best show, I mean her ish isn't super accessible. Acoustics were ok, her style really fits the Mezzanine crowd I went there with gp who's non-resolution of the year (month) was not to drink for 14 days, she wouldn't really elaborate on how much she got thrashed for nye. All good.
