credit card prevention at work

I always rag on the fraud prevention folks that seem to call me to confirm random charges (maybe four times, in my lifetime) but today I got a call about $344.36 unapproved charges that I won't have to pay and another $6500 in charges that were declined. Good work Chase.. they're sending me a new card. Cut it up good ![]() Couple of beefs, lady told me to substract the unapproved charges from my next statement: why not just remove em? Second, gotta update my auto pay info (at least three service providers), the card was set to expire in March I used to have a million credt cards (at one point like five) and I was just about to cancel my other one cuz they changed the benefits. I guess it's always good to keep a couple of em, maybe three total for backup (emergency strip club moneys)
Comments Well, you see, if they didn't go ahead and process those charges, they wouldn't be able to collect any chargebacks fees from the merchants that were involved. They have a nice revenue stream in fraud as long as they can keep the card holders happy.
