I thought Rock The Bells would be the dopest hip-hop show ever with the full Wu-Tang lineup but I realized that Method Man is really the only one to watch (and I saw Ghost). I jumped on the tickets when they were announced for MezzanineTonight was the show, I actually went late, like 9:30 and missed all but the last 5min of the first random mc, he had to be white. This show was cool, I thought there was less downtime than Ghost's show or maybe it wasn't as boring, Big Von held it down hard on the one and two, that cat is good Oh I almost forgot but Umi and Dead Prez also performed, Dead Prez got some sick joints, I liked them a lot, Umi not so much. Masta Killa came out with fanfare, I hate to say it but this is the first time I took a good look at his face, I dunno if it's age but he looked like nothing I remembered (those old Wu-Tang videos, like Triumph). Anyway, he was aight, Rebel INS was slightly better but I was here for Mister Mef (Masta Killa and Deck unceremoniously replaced up and comer Saigon on the bill) ![]() Meth came out a bit after midnight, kid's energy is phenomenal, he rocked the old joints, the new ones, the Wu-Tang classics. Anything off "36 Chambers", "Bring The Pain", "All I Need", "Judgement Day" and the new one "Say" were the highlight for me. I thought "What The Blood Clot" was an odd choice. His homey Streetlife was backing him up though he needed none of it. Noodlez and Deck came to support on a couple of joints and there was of course an ill tribute to ODB (RIP) I thought it was so cool how he went all over the club, down the floor where he danced with us (I hovered around the front), up the stairs to the second level (slid down the ramp and hit his head), he did a front flip into the crowd (I've never heard of that), crowdsurfed like 5 times, crowd swam to the back and front, and walked into the crowd where people held up his feet, just amazing The show ended around 1:30 in Wu-Tang fashion with Meth getting people from the crowd (girls at first) on stage to just dance, he made a point to shake hands with all the kids who wanted to, it's cool to see how genuine he really is about his love for the fans. Like he said, nobody can rock the stage like he does. That's real. M-E-T-H-O-D Maaan! Here's a cool review of his show in Indiana in Sept. Rest of Method Man tour dates, I'd go see him.
