From the little I read, the main character was a "soccer mom" who was sick of her surroundings. From the trailer, you can see it's big suburbian malaise (American Beauty) with a romance developing between neighbors, a single mom (Kate Winslet) starts something intense with a chap (Patrick Wilson, seen recently in Hard Candy and sorta breakthrough for The Phantom of the Opera) who's married to a brunette vixen (that would be the gorgeous Jennifer Connelly who proves that bangs work on basically no one). The whole train siren thing is kinda annoying but works to a point Director Todd Field can do drama, his breakthrough movie was In The Bedroom; he worked on the screenplay with the original novelist Tom Perrotta Little Children (New Line) opens Oct 6 Trailer IMDB Updates - good NYT review by A. O. Scott - Listen to Todd Field on the Treatment powered by ODEO - Ebert and Roeper (well Roeper and guest, one A. O. Scott) gave the movie two thumbs up - 10/29, watched, liked it Links - /reviews/movie/1599/little-children
