I came in late, missed Mew (I heard not bad) and Two Gallants (I heard Bright Eyes boring). While parking, I heard "7/4", a recent song I like from Broken Social Scene. I caught the end of their set. That's a weird band, a ton of people on stage (who knows how many guitars+ 2 drummers) - they sound good though, gotta give the album another chance

Bloc Party came around 10p and never stopped wowing the crowd. They started with "Waiting for the 7:18" which was very solid. It's a good song but some others could start the show. They played all the songs you'd expect from "Silent Alarm", though some people woulda liked "Banquet" to come out later. Didn't matter to me, I was super hyped (though tired)

They also played "Uniform", "Hunting for witches" and one other new song I've never heard. It sounded good, kinda had a groove to it, atypical if you ask me (maybe the song James writes about). In general I couldn't really understand what Kele was saying, with the British and all

There was a ton of people crowdsurfing and surprisingly, even chicks. Whatever happens when security gets to them? Another highlight was a dude sneak jumping on stage, hugging Kele and then saying "are you guys gonna catch me?" before stage diving. I thought he was talking to the security peeps. That was pretty nuts. Gordon asked the kids to stay chill. Kele was of course awesome, so was best-drummer-in-the-world Matt but it was Russel who impressed me the most at this concert, some serious guitar action

The singer from Broken Social Scene came out to add some vocal stylings at the end of "So here we are", that was a cool idea but I'm not sure they pulled it off (sound was a bit iffy).

I was hoping for a 2nd encore though cuz they did that at the Warfield last year. Oh well. One of the best concerts I've seen this year. Kele gave props to the other band, especially Broken Social Scene. You could see he was enjoying himself, I saw him smile a lot. It's kinda cool and refreshing. Him and Matt were having fun at the end of the show, pretending they were gonna jump in the crowd. Russel passed out some water bottles

Kele said this was their biggest tour to date and I'm afraid it won't get smaller. Smaller venues are so much better though. Sound was good for a big(ish) outside venue. Can't wait for the new album
